If you find yourself wandering the vibrant streets of Bintulu, Malaysia, don’t miss the charming Muhibah Cafe, nestled at No. 31 Market Street. This delightful cafe is not just a place to grab a meal; it’s a hub of local culture and a go-to spot for authentic Sarawak cuisine, especially for those seeking a hearty breakfast to start their day.

The star of the menu is undoubtedly their mi kolok, a traditional dish that truly embodies the flavors of the region. Each bowl is an experience, featuring perfectly cooked noodles topped with tender slices of beef, drizzled in a rich broth that is both aromatic and inviting. For just RM5, you can enjoy this delightful plate of culinary warmth that comes with a side of satisfying beef soup. Many regulars, like customer Kent Lim, rave about the “kolok sapi,” citing the broth as exceptionally fragrant and flavorful, making it worth every penny. However, he mentioned that the noodles themselves can sometimes feel a bit dry, a minor quibble in an otherwise stellar breakfast.

Muhibah Cafe thrives on its unpretentious, old-school vibe. Surrounded by the gentle hum of cars passing by, diners like Naza Fishing Adventure enjoy the nostalgic atmosphere while relishing in the generous portions served. Their recommended mi kolok special is a personal favorite among patrons, coming accompanied by a generous bowl of soup filled with an abundance of ingredients. Prepare to be wowed by the sizable portions; many find themselves challenged to finish the deliciously filling meal. The cafe fosters a sense of community, where locals of all races and backgrounds come together over a shared love for breakfast, reminiscent of the social fabric of Sarawak, as highlighted by visitor Tan Meng Siang. This unique attribute adds an enchanting layer to your dining experience, making every bite feel like a deeper connection with the culture.

Clean and welcoming, the cafe ensures that everyone enjoys their meal in a pleasant environment, as noted by Cyn Li. They’ve managed to create a space that strikes a balance between busy mornings and intimate meals, maintaining a welcoming spirit that invites you to linger just a bit longer. While some reviews suggest that there are better compared options, the undeniable value in flavor and portion sizes ensures that you leave satisfied, feeling like you’ve dined with family rather than merely grabbed breakfast.

For anyone looking for a taste of authentic local fare in Bintulu, Muhibah Cafe is the place to be. It’s not just about the satisfying dishes; it’s about connecting with the community, relishing the shared experiences, and discovering the beauty of Sarawakian cuisine. Whether you’re a first-time visitor or a lifelong local, this cafe promises to leave a lasting impression on your taste buds and your heart.

Old school vibes. Eating breakfast while watching cars pass by. I had mi kolok special which is basically mi kolok + a bowl of soup filled with everything like meat, tripe, tendon and beansprouts. The portion was so big my wife had a hard time finishing hers . Overall, a nice place to have breakfast for those looking for an old school street style place for breakfast with large portion too.

The cafe is clean. After trying their mee kolok and comparing with others, this one is so-so. But the price is totally worth it, the serving is large, comes with slices of beef on top and a bowl of beef borth.

The kolok mee here is always amazing! I’ve been eating here since I was a kid, and until now at 22 I still order the same thing. The food is so good that even the owner already knows me and my usual order by heart This place will always be my favorite!

Classical kopitiam that gives you the 80s & 90s vibes. The place is small but packed with people during breakfast hours. Mee sapi is the famous one here. If no spot to sit on people always dabao a lot.
